Deadline for applications - 4th June 2010
We are currently recruiting new trainers for 2010-2011. We are looking for enthusiastic and keen teachers of science with a passion for practical work in science to become the next group of 'Getting Practical Trainers'. The Train the Trainer events will take place during September and October 2010 at the regional Science Learning Centres.
If you are a secondary or primary Advanced Skills Teacher/other science teacher or freelance educational consultant with experience of delivering professional development training to colleagues and an enthusiasm for improving practical work in science, please fill in the application form below and return it to Kirstie Hampson by email, post or fax before the deadline of 4th June 2010.
The requirements and funding details for school-based and freelance trainers are available as downloadable documents below. Please contact Kirstie Hampson if you would like any further information:

We are particularly keen to hear from PRIMARY SCIENCE ASTs and other PRIMARY TEACHERS or PRIMARY CONSULTANTS with experience of delivering CPD. We are also keen to recruit trainers from the FE / Post 16 sector.
We would also be keen to hear from applicants in particular Local Authorities. Have a look at the list of LAs to see if yours is mentioned.
Last year's trainers have found the experience very beneficial:
"The course has gone really well and I thoroughly enjoyed delivering it. It has certainly influenced my practice already." - Getting Practical trainer 2009/2010
